ST. JOSEPH’S CATHEDRAL PARISH - UNGUJA: Founded in 1860’s. The Parish has Two Mission stations; namely – (a) St. John the Evangelist Jumbi, (b) St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Mtoni. The Parish has aproximately amembers 2,471 baptized Catholics.

The Parish has TWO communities. Fathers community and religious sisters from the Congrigation of St Charles Lwanga Bukoba offering their apostolate mission in Zanzibar Catholic Diocese.

It was officially consecrated on 20/08/2023, by his exellency, Bishop Augustine N. Shao, C.S.Sp, the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Zanzibar.
