THE CLOSURE OF TWO RELIGIOUS COMMUNITIES OF THE CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF ZANZIBAR. 29TH February and 18th March.

The Congreagation of our lady of Mount Usambara-Tanga closed two communities in the Catholic diocese of Zanzibar after 42 years of Ministry.

The entire Zanzibar community wish to thank them dearly for the number of yuers that they offered in building our diocese, Indeed we are what we are as a local Church due to their ministry of catechesis, dialogue, health and development in the diocese. We pray to the Risen Lord to continue animating and bless them in their mission endeavors.

we are obliged yet to write up their history of 42 years of building our diocese and ask them to circulate it to their communities in ordre to reach all those who worked with us.

Reasons for the closure of the two communiteis are well known to their general administration and dialogue for appeals were impossible. May God continue to bless their future apostolate wherever the Risen Lord assigns them! (From the Bishop's desk)

(Reflection)

Such abrupt move compelled the faithful to re-reflect on the question of St Paul the Apostles "What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword?"(Romans.8:35). home(back)
